The search

Who are we searching for?

A very healthy young person suitable as a gut microbiota - stool donor.

Why?

Do you know that donating stool can fundamentally improve or even save lives? No, seriously. A seemingly insignificant thing that you just uselessly dispose of can become maximally useful. Strange as it sounds, this is a totally serious matter that can substantially help sick people.

The gut microbiota, a complex ecosystem of microorganisms, that can be obtained from the stool of very healthy donors, can be used for the therapeutic method FMT (fecal microbiota transplantation or bacteriotherapy). This method is already saving many lives - e.g. for life-threatening C. Difficile, with far greater effectiveness than the methods used previously, but its potential is also evident for many other diseases that until recently were difficult or virtually impossible to solve.

Research - and also the experience of the author of this search - shows that the gut microbiome plays a key role in our health and that its poor state is linked to a variety of diseases. Gut microbiota transplantation represents a highly effective (and otherwise irreplaceable) method to treat a damaged, improperly functioning gut microbiota and in turn, also related health problems (some external articles on the topic)

This therapeutic method has turned out to be the key for us, enabling us to actually be solving our health problems after years of a terrible struggle and suffering. We need to continue with this treatment, which would allow us to further improve our health - but to do this we need to find a suitable donor, which we don't have.

The main problem (apart from the problematic availability of this method) is that only a very small percentage of people are actually suitable for donation. Based on demanding health criteria, the selection process excludes a significant proportion of candidates, which is one of the main reasons why getting a suitable donor is not easy at all. This is precisely the problem we are trying to solve with this search, in order to be able to continue with our treatment (and potentially, in the future, not only ours - there are other people like us - also people we know personally!). Like other people in a similar unpleasant situation, after an unsuccessful search in our close circles, we decided to reach out to a wider circle of people.

Do you or someone you know meet these criteria?

  • you are 18-30 years old
  • you are in a very good health, both physically and mentally
  • you don't suffer from any chronic (or infectious) disease
  • you have a healthy weight, are not underweight nor overweight, have no metabolic disorder
  • you don't suffer from allergies or intolerances
  • you lead a healthy and active lifestyle, don't smoke, don't drink excessively
  • you have not taken antibiotics for at least a year
  • you have never been diagnosed with a serious illness (e.g. cancer)

Then maybe you belong to the small percentage of suitable donors - stop wasting your stool! With a simple donation, which does not involve anything dangerous, you can actually help others significantly and even get a financial reward for it - contact us!

(If you have doubts about whether you fit the criteria, or have any other questions, contact us too 🙂 )

You don't fit the criteria, but you know someone who may? Share this website to your friend! If they turn out to be a good candidate and start donating, you get a 100€ reward for referring them!

What is the donation process?

  1. filling out the questionnaire, interview
  2. visiting a doctor, taking tests (blood tests, stool tests) to check your health as a potential donor and the information you provided in the questionnaire
  3. the donation itself is simple - by handing in your stool sample in the transport container, in principle the same way as when you hand in a sample for examination to a doctor

There is no need to undergo any special/invasive procedures or to take any medication, preparation, etc. for the donation. There is no health risk to the donor.

You can also consider it a bonus to have your health status verified during the necessary health check-up (including extra parameters that are not normally examined during e.g. an usual preventive check-up).

Reward

If you refer someone who turns out to be a suitable donor (and starts donating): you get 100€

Reward for the donor: 50€ for taking part in the necessary medical examination (point 2 above). If the results are OK, you are evaluated as a suitable donor and start donating: one time reward 100€ for the first donation, 30€ for each subsequent donation (this can be even several times/month). The reward can thus easily amount to 200€ or 300€, but very realistically even more! The number of donations needed and other details will be specified depending on the circumstances.

About us

Matúš (Slovakia)

Due to long lasting (9 years), serious health problems, which for a long time have excluded me from any normal life and kept me bedridden with terrible symptoms, I have been involved with the FMT method for a while. After my long suffering and a rough journey, this method proved to be the key on the path to solving my disease. Although this method has gotten me out of the worst, I need to continue with it to get rid of my still lingering and still very limiting problems. This is what could allow me to finally return to a normal life.

In addition, I am a graduate student in biomedicine/biomedical physics (interdisciplinary studies with on the faculty of medicine and the faculty of mathematics, physics and computer science that has provided me with an essential college level medicine education). I am interested to pursue this topic in a meaningful way also in the future. You can also find more about me and my story here:

Leni (Germany/Austria)

I have been struggling for 9 years with severe health problems, digestive ones and fatigue in the first place, that have severely disrupted my life. I have been through a long journey involving failure to find a solution with doctors, countless efforts to help myself with various methods, before finally finding real a hope for my recovery through FMT.

Jennifer (Germany)

Over ten years of debilitating gut issues, to which ME/CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) and MCAS (mast cell activation syndrome) later added another layers of complexity had left Jenni sick and desperately searching for relief. FMT, a fecal microbiota transplantation, along with dietary changes, supplements and other means, brought her significant improvement. While she's grateful for the progress, she still struggles and is longing for a further improvement of her health, in order to be able to finally regain her life back.
