I know very well… STARE

I know VERY well…

…what it means to be sick. I have spent several years battling severe health problems which prevented me from living any kind of a normal life whatsoever. In fact, during the worst times, even simple everyday activites like taking a shower or reading a text were terribly difficult. And at the same time, I was not able to get any help from the medical system.

Do you know the feeling of frustration after visiting many doctors and still having no answers? They are providing no help and having no clue what’s wrong with you? They are very possibly even downplaying your symptoms, trying to persuade you that in fact, it’s just in your head? That you just need to rest a bit, that you are too young to be sick, your test results are allright, so you must be allright and you should just visit a psychologist, or better straight a psychiatrist?

I know that frustration very well. After a vast experience with the current medical system being completely useless and having even been dangerously mistreated, I had no other choice than to get better on my own.

If we forget about the fact, that the medical field still doesn’t have a good terminology, let alone an understanding of problems like mine and many others‘, my problems have been best described as a severe ME/CFS. And IBS, SIBO… and several other seriously sounding terms, which however, at the end of the day, don’t really provide any answers. I have experienced many symptoms, some of them truly debilitating and nightmarish – severe brain fog, fatigue, digestive problems, muscle tension and pain, weakness, intolerance to noise and light, mood swings, skin problems and many other.

During my journey for which I never asked, I gained a huge amount of knowledge and learned about functioning of our bodies in ways that doctors have unfortunately hardly any clue of.

I have graduated in the field of biomedical science which provided me with a solid knowledge of human body and medicine – on top of which I have been building up during the unfortunate struggle with my health.
